Prestwick voted worst airport in Scotland
26.02.09
Prestwick Airport has been voted Scotland's worst airport in a passenger poll published today, with a satisfaction rating of just 46 percent. Inverness airport was voted Scotland's best, and the UK's ninth-best, with a satisfaction rating of 66 percent, placing it ahead of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Prestwick was still well ahead of Heathrow Terminal 1, which scored the least in the Which Holiday? magazine poll with 31 percent. Infratil, the New Zealand firm that owns the airport, said it was ‘committed to improving the passenger experience’.
A spokesman said the airport ‘has seen a massive improvement in the retail and food and beverage offerings. Work on the £1.7m extended and refurbished departure lounge will be completed in time for the summer period. Our passengers will benefit from new seating, new toilets, enhanced retail outlets and more space.'
The survey highlighted Glasgow Airport for scoring well on car parks.
