Passengers down 18%

122,345 passengers passed through Prestwick Airport in March, down 18% on a year ago but in line with recent trends (February was down 22%). Freight was 927 tonnes in March, a 32% reduction on the prior year but a slight increase (1.7%) on February.
In the 12 months to the end of March the airport had 1,713,885 passengers, 26% down on the previous rolling 12 month period. Freight of 12,499 tonnes was 34% down on the previous period. The summer schedule started on March 28 with good load factors and strong forward bookings, the airport said.
