Passengers up 4% in December; 1% in 2007

168,000 passengers passed throughPrestwick Airport in December, 7,000 (or 4%) more than in the same month a year earlier. Scheduled passengers were up 7% to 164,730, with non scheduled (charter) passengers up 12% to 3238.
In the year to the end of December the airport handled 2,404,250 passengers, up 1% on 2006. Scheduled passengers were up 2% to 2,256,988, with non scheduled passengers down 8% to 147,253.
Freight in December was 2,836 tonnes, up 14% on prior year. In the year to the end of December freight volume was 31,574 tonnes, a 9% increase on the prior year.
