Teenager charged over emergency landing of US flight

A teenager has been charged after a plane flying to the US was diverted to Prestwick Airport on Tuesday following an incident on board. Karim Nourredine Khdaidi, 19, was charged with behaving in a disorderly manner on an aircraft, resisting police and assaulting an officer.
Ayr Sheriff Court heard the Northwest Airlines plane, flying from Paris to Detroit with 185 passengers on board, was forced to land at Prestwick airport on Tuesday afternoon after a disturbance. Khdaidi, from Switzerland, was remanded in custody for psychiatric assessment.
