22.11.06
A transatlantic plane flying between France and the US was forced to land at Prestwick Airport yesterday because of a disruptive passenger.
The Northwest Airlines Airbus A330, en route from Paris to Detroit, with 185 people on board, landed at the airport at 15:20 yesterday. A 19-year-old man was removed from the plane and arrested by police for breach of the peace. The man is reported to be a Swiss national.
A spokesman for the airport said it was told by the Scottish Air Traffic Control Centre at 14:45 that the plane was being diverted at the request of the pilot.
