Ryanair Glasgow Prestwick passengers stranded in Paris get 10p refund
21.11.05
Angry passengers on a Ryanair flight to Glasgow Prestwick airport from Paris who were left stranded in France on Saturday evening have been offered refunds of just 10p.
More than 150 were marooned at fog-hit Paris Beauvais Airport when their Ryanair service to Glasgow Prestwick was cancelled. Passengers told how check-in staff offered refunds of 10p - the price of the return flight - when they complained about Saturday's cancellation.
Twenty flights in and out of the UK were cancelled when fog shut down Paris Beauvais, the smallest of the Paris airports. More than 1200 passengers from Britain were stranded because of the chaos.
A spokesman for Ryanair last night apologised for the problems which were 'outside of our control'. He added: 'Passengers affected have been offered full refunds or we have been trying to accommodate them on the first flight available.'
