The number of passengers using Prestwick Airport increased for the second month running. 197,198 people passed through the hub in July, up 2.7% on a year earlier. Freight business also increased slightly.
A spokesman for the airport said the increase was encouraging ‘during this challenging time’. He added that the key driver for the growth was the successful partnership with Ryanair which has 12 from Prestwick, but the budget airline is cutting its winter capacity, which will have a significant impact on passenger numbers.
