Airline considers Islands flights
05.07.09
Obanair is considering starting flights from Prestwick Airport to Oban and Stornoway, the Post reports. Spencer Pryor from Obanair told the newspaper: ‘It might seem a strange time to be considering new air routes, but we feel we need to start planning now for when the economy picks up.'
‘We hope our research will show there is a demand for a daily service on the routes using a small commuter aircraft such as a Jetstream 31 or a Twin Otter. Depending on the outcome of this research, we plan to apply for a category B airline operators licence and undergo a second round of financing with the target of starting operations in the Spring of 2010.’
