Transavia scrap Amsterdam route
03.10.07
Transavia, the a Dutch low-cost airline that is part Air France-KLM, is scrapping their Prestwick Airport to Amsterdam route. The airline has yet to officially announce the closure (airlines are quick to announce new routes, but rarely announce route closures), but flights are no longer bookable via the airlines website after October.
A reader spoke to a call centre operator who confirmed that 'we no longer have any flights on that route in November.' She was too shocked to ask why, and says that, when she travelled on the flights, they were always busy.
The reader adds: 'My partner - who is based in Amsterdam - and I have relied on these flights since easyJet gave up the Glasgow - Amsterdam route. Between us, we travel return on the route about 10 times a year. Now we're now going to have to rely on the much more expensive KLM. I wish Flyglobespan would launch flights.'
